Objective of today’s dialogue: Invite members to analyze their way of living and to choose to be wise by following God’s advice

Welcome (15) – Fellowship

• What do people consider foolish in our days?
• What was one of the most stupid things you have ever done and why?
• What could have made you not do it?

• Read Psalms 106:1-2

• Have a popcorn prayer giving only thanks to God for the wise decisions He helped you to make in your life.

Word (30) – Discipleship
• Read Ephesians 5:15-21
• Why do you think is so important for a Christian to live a “wise” life? v15
• How can we “make the most of every opportunity”? v16
• Paul urges us not to be fool, but to understand what God’s will is. How can we get to know and understand God’s will? v17
• Why is it so important to be filled with the Holy Spirit and not with other substances? v18 How do you know the Spirit is controlling your life?
• Why do you think is so important for a wise Christian to sing, praise God and talk to others about it? v19
• How can we fulfill the command to “sing and make music in your heart to the Lord’? v19
• What is the relationship between giving thanks always and for everything to God and being wise? v20 How can we do it?
• What does it mean to submit to another out of reverence for God? v21 Why is this wise?

• How will you apply this year what we have studied today?
• What changes is God calling you to make?

• To do: Be wise and memorize any verse from: Ephesians 5.15

• Once again refresh the vision for the group of being the family of God in Miami, and of multiplying believers in order to see them in heaven.
• Talk to the group about their not so wise friends who need to know God. Ask each one to write their names on sticky notes and pray for them as a group.
• Remember to ask the group: How can we pray for you tonight?

• Direct the conversations during this time to how to live out what we have just studied.
• Talk to people, and listen.

Growth Group Lesson #16 – Understanding

DIALOGUE # 16 – UNDERSTANDING

Objective of today’s dialogue: challenge people to be ready and willing to help others get to know God and understand his Word..

Welcome (15) – Fellowship

• What kind of things were hard for you to comprehend when you were in elementary school and why?
• Who helped you understand and how did he do it?
• What is it hard for you to understand now?

Worship (15) – Worship
• Read Psalms 8:1-9
I’m a friend of God
• What are some of the joys that God has given you for which you are thankful? Pray fervently giving only thanks.

Word (30) – Discipleship
• Read Acts 8.26-40
• What kind of Christian was Phillip considering the fact that an angel gives him a mission and he rapidly obeys it? v26,27
• What kind of a man was the one sitting on the chariot? v27-34
• How does staying near of people help us to fulfill God’s mission? v29 How should we do it?
• When should we ask people if they understand? v30 Give examples
• How can we help people “understand” the Bible, God and current events? v31,35
• What are the four principles found in Acts 8.35 that we need to follow when helping people understand the Bible? (Principles: begin where they are; explain it with the Bible, show how it’s good for them; center it all in Jesus)
• How prepared are you to help others understand the Bible? How could you be ready to help others understand the good news? v35

• Ask group members if they feel ready to help others understand? what can we do as a group to be prepared in the basics of faith in order to help others?
• Do you know anyone who wants to understand more about God, the Bible and current events? Write down the names and challenge group members to invite them to GG.
• Finalize asking: How can we pray for you tonight?

• How easy is for you to decide what to eat when you go out?
• When you go out to eat, do you count yourself in the camp of those who choose considering the quality or quantity?

• What are some of the decisions that God has helped you to make for which you are thankful to God tonight.
• Pray in groups of three

Word (30) – Discipleship
• Read Daniel 1:1-20
• Place yourself in Daniel’s shoes and consider, how would you feel about God if you were only 17 and taken away from your country, family, and friends into captivity to a foreign land?
• Why do you think Daniel took the decision not to “defile himself”? v8
• When your loyalty to God is tested, how do you react?
• What is the relationship between what we eat and drink with the God we serve?
• How prone are you to remain faithful when no one is watching you? Why?
• What should we do with our principles when we face challenges? Explain. v8,12
• What do you think prepared Daniel and his friends to face this challenge?
• Consider the consequences/end results of the decision Daniel took in facing the test of loyalty. Why do you think it was all worth it or not? v8,12,15,17-20
• What principles should we take into consideration when making everyday decisions?

• To do: Challenge the group to repeat together and to store in their minds Daniel 1.8

• Allow one of the co-leaders or apprentices to share the vision God has given for GG.
• Invite people to study the Bible in order to have the right principles in making choices.
• Who do you know that needs help in making wise decisions and being loyal to God?
• Plan a social activity as a group: let members chose the what, when, how and who will be invited. Have some ideas ready. Remember visitors should be invited to this social/evangelistic activity.
• Finalize asking: How can we pray for you tonight?

• What are the characteristics of a useful gift?

• Take time to praise God giving thanks for leading you in times of difficulties, challenges and temptations. Share your praise with the people in your group. Show God is ALIVE and working

• What is Paul challenging young Timothy to do? v14
• How can we teach children-youth to really know the Bible? v15
• According to Paul what is the origin and purpose of the Bible? v16
• What are some of the practical things the Bible can do for us? or, what kind of benefit do we get from reading it? v15-17
• What does it mean that the Bible is God-breathed? v16
• Why is knowing the Bible so crucially important as Christians? v16
• How much time are you devoting to reading, studying and memorizing the Scriptures? Why?

• As the main leader of the group, share the vision of multiplication with passion.
• Challenge the group to read the gospel of John during this week. Ask each one to read 3 chapters a day. Ask for commitments. If someone doesn’t have a Bible, get one from church and give it as a gift. Give them also a guide to read the whole Bible in a year so they can mark this week reading and continue from there on.
• Take time to pray for people needs, you can ask: How can we pray for you tonight?

DIALOGUE # 19 – RESCUED

• Have you ever participated in recuing someone?
• Were you ever rescued from a situation where your life was in danger?
• How does it feel to be rescued?

• This is the time to give thanks. Praise God for those time that He rescued you. Share your motive of thankfulness with the group
• Pray in groups of three

• Read John 3:13-16
• Why did Moses have to make the bronze serpent?
• Why did Jesus have to die? v15
• Do you truly believe that without Jesus we are lost? Why are we lost? v16
• What does this rescue mission teaches you about God? v16
• If salvation is only found through Jesus, where does that leave all other religions? v17 Read Acts 4.12; 1 Timothy 2.5
• Why is God so interested in giving us Jesus? Why is this gift so especial? v16
• What would happen to all those decide not to believe in Jesus? v16 Why?
• Do you believe in Jesus and accept Him as Savior and Rescuer of your life? Do you choose to believe?
• What have you heard God telling you tonight?
• What changes do you need to make in order to apply –live today’s message?

DIALOGUE # 20 – AMBASSADORS

Objective of today’s dialogue: As the leader, help the group discussion concentrate and emphasize the idea that God has chosen us as His ambassadors, that this is a lifestyle to be lived at school, work, with friends, in parties, etc; and our mission is to call people the be reconciled with God.

• If you were to be chosen to be an ambassador for a country, where would you like to be sent and why?
• What do you think is the main job of an ambassador?
• Have you ever represented someone? Share with the group how it felt.

• Take some time to give thanks to God and today concentrate on giving thanks for those who brought to you God’s message of Salvation. Mention who were the key messengers who helped you believe and know God.

• What are some of the old things that are gone from your life? V17

Growth Group Lesson Plan #21 – Identity

DIALOGUE # 21 – IDENTITY

Objective of today’s dialogue: Invite the group to embrace our true identity. Also help the group discussion concentrate and emphasize the idea that we are God’s creatures by simply being born, but in order to become his children there is a choice each one needs to make. Talk also about the advantages of becoming a son/daughter of God.

• Ask everyone present to hug four people and to tell them why he is glad they are at the group meeting tonight.
• If you were ever confused with someone else, how did it make you feel?
• If you could be someone else for a day who would you be and why?
